When COVID hit this country so hard back in the Spring of 2020, resulting in many Americans feeling alone and depressed and some started overdosing on drugs, drinking too much and committing suicide, I thought I could help by presenting positive Heroic Tales of inspiration. Literally, I was just trying to give people a lift, pointing out that there are some good people in this world, a sign of hope for all. Many of us lost a friend or family member during the pandemic and that will be a harsh memory healed only by time. The rest of us can be grateful that we survived the COVID crisis thus far, although the devastating disease will continue attacking with new variants.
In this newsletter, Heroic Tales, I have written 54 stories, which is nearly two books. I have received some very nice comments from some of you and others have supported the newsletter and my time writing these stories by subscribing which I greatly appreciated. But at this point, as COVID has subsided to the point where we are now living our lives with the illness as if it were the annual flu bug, I think I have completed my mission. I will no longer be writing these Heroic Tales, but use my time to focus on my novels.
The two novels in the Dylan Reilly action-thriller series, A Dangerous Freedom and Russian Assault, are both doing very well. They received great reviews from critics and readers and are selling well on Amazon.com. We just added an audiobook for Russian Assault for those who prefer listening to a narrated book with sound effects added for a greater impact. A very talented voice actor, Rick Font, does the narration. That process was quite an undertaking, almost like producing a play or movie, to some extent. I’m really happy with it and hope you will consider purchasing it for yourself or friends during this Christmas season.
Anyway, the only other communication you will receive from this newsletter are updates on my writing efforts. I will be working on the third novel in the Dylan Reilly series followed by an addition to Parish The Thought with stories I had to take out of the first book because the publisher, Simon and Schuster, wanted to reduce the length of the book. But I will also be adding new stories to the second book. Parish The Thought continues to sell across the country and I’m grateful I received the inspiration to write it and promote the values of faith and family.
